Assessor’s Office

Tami Snyder has been serving as the Town Assessor for the Town of Caledonia since 2010, bringing extensive experience to the role. As the Town Assessor, she is appointed by the Town Board and holds a six-year term. Tami is required to attain New York State certification and is governed by the New York State Real Property Tax Law (RPTL) and the Office of Real Property Services (ORPS). Her office is responsible for estimating the value of real property within the Town, which is then used to determine assessments for property tax calculations. Additionally, the Town of Caledonia is the designated assessing authority for both the Town and Village of Caledonia, as well as for the school districts serving Caledonia properties. Tami’s office also handles the processing of all real property exemptions.

Important Legal Dates on the Assessment Calendar:

MARCH 1ST   –   Taxable status date

MAY 1ST   –   Tentative assessment roll filed

FOURTH TUESDAY IN MAY   –   Grievance day

JULY 1ST   –   Final assessment roll filed

All exemptions must be filed by March 1st

Grievance Day 2025 will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 4:00-8:00p
