All deaths that occur in the Town of Caledonia are filed with the Town Clerk.
Certified copies are provided for $10 per copy (cash or check/money order payable to: Caledonia Town Clerk) to an eligible person or family member.

A certified copy or a certified transcript of a death certificate may be issued only: To the spouse, parent or child of the deceased, To the lawful representative of the spouse, parent or child of the deceased, To a person with a New York State Court Order issued on a showing of necessity for the confidential medical information, By a municipal, state or federal agency specifically requesting the confidential medical information for official purposes.
If the person passed away at home or in Caledonia, we will have the death record. If the person passes away outside of Caledonia, we will not have the record.
A Certified Death Certificate can be obtained for any death recorded in the Town or Village of Caledonia. The cost is $10.00 per copy.

No. The Town of Caledonia only provides certified copies of certificates. We will not provide a copy without a certification and raised seal. Photocopies are also not given out.
