Notary services are available at the Town Hall during our regular business hours only. Tompkins Community Bank & the village office also have a notary.
Proper identification (driver’s license or non-driver’s ID) must be submitted and the person signing must be present. This service is free.

What do I need to have a document notarized?
To have a document notarized, you must present the notary with your identification and fill out the notary log book. You must not sign your document prior to visiting the notary.
When is the Notary available?
Seth Graham is our Notary Public for the Town of Caledonia. Seth is available during regular business hours. Monday-Thursday: 8am-12pm/1pm-4pm and Friday: 8am-12pm. We advise you call ahead to check availability of the Notary Public.
Can you notarize something electronically?
The Notary Public for the Town of Caledonia will only notarize documents in person.
Will you travel to me to have a document notarized?
No. The person requiring the notary service must come in person to the Caledonia Town Hall.
Where else can I have a document notarized in town?
If our notary is unavailable, you may go to the Village of Caledonia to have a document notarized. Additionally, Tompkins Community Bank has a notary and is free to members of the bank.
What is the fee associated with the Notary Services?
In New York State, a Notary Public may charge $2.00 for Notary Services, however, this is a free service for Caledonia residents. Out of town residents may be charged.
Do I need an appointment to have a document notarized?
No appointment is required to have a document notarized, however, it’s advised to call ahead to check availability of the notary. Please note, notary services are only performed during business hours and not after hours.
