The Town Clerk’s Office serves as a central part of the Town of Caledonia’s government, responsible for managing important records and supporting various administrative functions. As the custodian of all town records, the Town Clerk ensures they are properly maintained, organized, and accessible.
The Clerk also oversees the Town’s Records Management Program, ensuring both historical and current records are stored appropriately. In addition, the Clerk prepares minutes as the clerk of the Town Board, serving as a key communication link between the town government and its residents.
One of the primary duties of the Town Clerk is serving as the Registrar of Vital Statistics, managing records related to births, deaths, and marriages for both the Town and Village of Caledonia. The Clerk also handles tax collection for the Town, County, and Fire Districts and issues a variety of licenses and permits, including hunting and fishing licenses, dog licenses, accessible parking permits, and marriage licenses.
Seth Graham is our Town Clerk/Tax Collector and has worked for the Town of Caledonia in several capacities since 2015, including Information Technology and as the Supervisor’s Clerk. In 2021, Seth took on the role of Town Clerk/Tax Collector, where he continues to manage the office’s operations. Seth also serves as the Vice President of the Livingston County Town Clerk Tax Collectors Association (LCTCTCA) and as the Town’s Notary Public. His work as the Registrar of Vital Statistics and his involvement in local governance help ensure the Town Clerk’s Office runs smoothly and meets the needs of the community.
Additionally, Seth is appointed as the Clerk for both the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Board of Assessment Review.
Through his experience and service to the Town, Seth strives to maintain an office that is efficient, accessible, and responsive to the needs of Caledonia’s residents.
Christine Binnert has been with the Town of Caledonia since 2015, when she was appointed as the Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector and Deputy Vital Statistics Registrar. In her role, Chris works closely with the Town Clerk to help manage vital records, assist with tax collection, and take care of various office tasks. With her experience and dedication, Chris is an important part of keeping things running smoothly in the Town Clerk’s Office and providing helpful services to the community.
